Hello!

Update on the fundraising:  So far, we've raised $255 dollars for the show.  The goal of $2000 is still within reach.  I think next week will be a banner week.

I've been working on collected the works for the show.  I am using the big room for a place to hang everything right now.  I'm sure it will look empty and lonely after we take the art out of it.

After asking a few of the funders and a few critics about which art works to include in the show, I've decided that this particular show will be more commercially slanted.  Only beautiful things.  Sellable art.  Nature photos, character studies, photos of travels, old barns and buildings.  Lots and lots of photos for this show.  A few paintings, mostly photos.  I would like to have a table for kids to play and make art.  I would like to have a journal corner.  I would like to have food and drinks and I would like to leave a little money to the art scholarship fund at Rio.

So if you know anyone who has great digital photos of nature and beauty and architecture or old cars - please tell them to submit their work to me through my email.  I'm thinking it might be a good idea if I set up an email address for the Art Studio 139.

I'll try to do that.

I also need to work on my website and get it updated.

The mailers will be sent by the end of next week.

Be sure to tell everyone you know about the exhibit and the chance to show some photos.

(This photo should be a view of the pond in my back yard where I walk.)

Catch you on the flipside.

This one is a copy. I'm working on "The Girls" right now. I need to put together a flyer or a postcard invitation for the opening and the exhibit. I need to put together an artist's statement for the works. I need to let you know what works I am currently planning on presenting. Hold on. I'll put together a list.

Luba.

I wonder if this one will be too tiny to see at all.

There is an exhibit opening on June 10th, a Saturday, probably an all day party, at the Greer Museum on the URG campus happening in about four or five weeks.  You must make plans to attend.  If you cannot attend, I will be destroyed and beyond maintaining any comradery with you from that point forward.  That's a lie.

I'm just looking for excuses to try out my other uploaded pictures.

Leave a comment for me.

Hey! Guess what! There's an art exhibit hitting Rio on June 10th! I'm very excited. I'm going to try to keep this livejournal space alive if possible. I need to share ideas with artsy friends and I need a place to document my art ideas. I'm going to check out how many pictures I can download. Catch ya later. - Luba
